Advanced Sailing
Weeks 1 to 9 | M, Tu, W, Th, F | John R. Turney Sailing Center| Ages 10+
This course is for advanced sailors of all ages, or anyone looking to take their sailing skills to the competative level. Education includes learning advanced terminology, racing strategies, race starts, use of a spinnaker, roll tacking, right of way, sportsmanship, teamwork, and any other sailing skills that students want, as well as the rigging and derigging of Lasers and 420s. Students will be assigned to boats based on their skill level, physical ability and educational desires. Participants must be able to: sail independently on all points of sail and perform basic tacking and gybing maneuvers.

Sailing center staff is trained annually and led by U.S. Sailing Level–1 certified instructors.
