Backcountry Hiking and Backpacking for Beginners
Week 9 | M, Tu, W, Th | Hultquist 201B | Ages 16+
This course is for adults of all ages and young adults interested in learning how to tackle a backcountry hike or a multi-day backpacking trip. We will talk necessary gear, navigation, food and water, trail etiquette and culture, safety and troubleshooting. We'll look at ways to lighten your load, choose stopping points and campsites, and discuss trail food, water sources, hygiene, and more. Hands-on demos and information to build your confidence on trail.
