Biblical Origins: From Genesis to Revelation

Week 8 | August 15–19 | Turner Community Center 105 | Ages: 16+

No book in all of human history has had the revolutionary influence, the effect on western thought or the depth of religious insight as the Bible, the sacred scriptures of the Judeo/Christian tradition. You will learn how our English Bible came to be in its present form(s) — from its beginnings in ancient myth and folklore, to the story of Israel, the lives of Jesus and Paul, to the apocalyptic visions of John. We will pursue questions of authorship, dates of composition, and the original intent of the Biblical writers in their own place and time.
