Creative Writing Inspired by Visual Art

Week 9 | M, Tu, W, Th, F | Hultquist 101 | Ages 14+

Discover how visual art can inspire creative writing and how writing can deepen our experience of art. Participants will engage in close looking, word-sketching, and imaginatively responding to unique art-based writing prompts. The five sessions will spotlight a range of visual art, including works from Chautauqua's galleries, chosen to inspire writers of all experience levels to explore character, place and story. Enjoy building a rich toolbox of new ways to see, wonder and write. Students should bring a hard-backed journal and a pen.
