Emily Dickinson began reading Ralph Waldo Emerson’s writings as a young woman and his writings influenced both her sharp thinking and her poetry. It is possible that they may have met when Emerson visited Dickinson's brother, who lived next door. The life and writings of Emerson and Dickinson will be studied side by side.

M.S., M.L.S., M.Div. Studied and taught psychology, literature and theology for last 45 years. Combines these disciplines to bring new dimensions of understanding to the world’s great stories (mythology, fairy tales, Bible stories). Taught at Syracuse Univ. for 30 years. Continues to study the writing of Carl Jung, leads retreats, teaches for Road Scholar and for Oasis (Syracuse, NY) and frequently lectures for various organizations. This marks her 32nd year with Special Studies.
