Heart of Watercolor, Hand of Drawing
Week 6 | Tu, W, Th | Pier Building Classroom | Ages 16 and up
The earliest art was the drawn line. The earliest paintings started with drawing. This class successfully combines both: drawing and watercolor painting. The spirit of this course joins these two elements to produce creative, exciting works of art using new approaches, tools and methods. Specific exercises in basic watercolor techniques, line, shading, value, color, drawing from observation and composition will be covered. Lessons will be based on a variety of approaches ranging from "planned" to "spontaneous" artwork.
Bring your own watercolor materials or purchase from instructor.
Materials fee of $7 due to instructor at start of class.
Class Times
Please come to class prepared with the following materials:
- Watercolor paints: tube or pan, mixing palette or plate;
- Watercolor paper: 140 lb, 9x12 or larger;
- Watercolor brushes: various sizes. 4,6,8,10,12 round .... flat;
- Optional: container for water, paper towels, pencil.
To purchase materials from instructor: $30-$35 for complete set of materials needed for class
