Interpretation of Fairy Tales

Week 2 | M, W, Th, F | Hultquist 101 | Ages 18 and up

From the perspective of Jungian psychology, story images from "Spirit in the Bottle" and "Snow White" will be discussed as metaphors for understanding the human experience such as envy and dynamics of father-son relationships. What aspects of yourself are personified by the woodcutter, Mercurius, the dwarfs, or the negative queen?

M.S., M.L.S., M.Div. Studied and taught psychology, literature and theology over last 45 years. Combines these disciplines to bring new dimensions of understanding to the world’s great stories (mythology, fairy tales, bible stories). Taught at Syracuse University for 30 years. Continues to study the writing of Carl Jung, leads retreats, teaches for Road Scholar and for Oasis (Syracuse, NY) and frequently lectures for various organizations. This marks her 32nd year with Special Studies.
