Jon Meacham
Meacham, a presidential historian and Pulitzer Prize-winning author, is one of America’s most prominent public intellectuals, and he returns to Chautauqua to open a week dedicated to tracing “The Evolution of the Modern Presidency” and, more importantly, to launch the 2024 Summer Assembly and the celebration of the Institution’s 150th anniversary. With a depth of knowledge about politics, history, religion and current affairs, Meacham brings historical context to the issues and events impacting our daily lives.
