Our printmaking courses focus on the exploration and development of students’ unique ideas and sensibilities inspired by the printmaking medium. Printmaking offers a generous community learning environment that embraces collaboration, experimentation and student–led projects fostered through community sharing, critiques and group discussions. In addition to introducing various traditional printmaking techniques, such as relief, intaglio and silk screen, this course will embrace and challenge traditions of historical and contemporary print media, offering an array of making strategies for all skill levels and artistic practices.

Taro Takizawa

Taro Takizawa is an artist who focuses on printmaking, wall vinyl installations, drawings and2D designs. He received his BFA with a printmaking emphasis from Central Michigan University, and MFAin printmaking from Syracuse University. Takizawa has exhibited in various small and largegroup exhibitions nationally, and internationally in Poland, China, UK, Spain and Australia.He is a recent Emerging ArtistAwardee at Southern Graphics Council International and currently serves as the Visiting Lecturer at UNC Chapel Hill.
