Kind Yoga
Week 6, 7 | M, Tu, W, Th, F | Heinz Fitness 1 | Ages 14 and up
This class is kind and gentle yoga class suitable for all body types. Beginners welcome. You will learn the practicalities of how to move your body in its pain-free range of motion and why it is important to pay attention to your breathing. This class will focus on the physical and mental health benefits of yoga. You will learn specifically how to regulate your nervous system and elevate your mood. Led by expert yoga teacher and author Joanne Spence.
Please bring a yoga mat, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. If the weather is cooperative, the class will be outdoors.
Class Times
Students should come to class prepared with the following:
- Yoga Mat;
- Yoga Blocks (optional).
Joanne E. Spence
Joanne Spence, MA, ERYT 500, is a recovering social worker and yoga therapist. She is the executive director of Yoga in Schools. Joanne trains and teaches all sorts of amazing people, nationally and internationally. She has taught yoga in prisons, hospitals, schools, churches, and sometimes on street corners. She specializes in working with adults and children who are experiencing chronic pain, trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and insomnia.
