Week 3, 9 | M, Tu, W, Th, F | Hultquist 201A (Week 3), Smith Library Classroom (Week 9) | Ages 14 and up
Sunday in the Park with George was considered one of the more cerebral offerings from Stephen Sondheim. It went from being an unfinished work that caused people to walk out in droves, to a complete musical in two acts that won the Pulitzer Prize. This class will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the development and production of this show. Sunday remains one of the most profound expressions of the musical theater. We will look at the life and works of Sondheim, as well as the painter George Seurat. Sunday in the Park with George will be viewed in its entirety.
