Writing Your Life: An Introduction to the Memoir
Week 7 | M, T, W, Th, F | Hultquist 201A | Ages 16+
Mark Twain once said, "Write what you know." This class allows students to do just that! Through a selection of memoir, autofiction and autobiography readings, students will explore how to write about the subject they know best: themselves. Writing our own lives can feel difficult and uncomfortable, but with class exercises that employ different points of view, forms and styles, students will have the opportunity to share their stories in a way that feels not only authentic but that, through a literary lens, showcases the beauty of their lives.
