I. How to access your courses in the LMS:

  1. Visit learn.chq.org
    1. Click “Sign In” in the top right corner of your screen.
  2. Enter your user name and password that you created for CHQ, then click “Sign In”
    1. If you haven’t done this, click “Sign up now” under the orange button and follow the instructions
  3. Along the right side of the screen, click the second icon down – it looks like a book, and if you hover the cursor over it, it says “Content”
  4. A list of the courses you have access to as an instructor will appear.

PLEASE DO NOT MAKE ANY EDITS IN YOUR COURSES UNLESS THEY ARE LISTED BELOW, OR YOU TALK TO SUZANNE FIRST.

Sorry to get brutal there, but you have permissions in your course that could cause hours of repair work if errors are made. Thank you for your understanding!

II. How to edit your course:

  1. Log in as described above.
  2. Along the right side of the list of courses, there is a drop down menu titled “Actions”
    1. Click “Actions” and the drop down menu will appear
  3. Click “Edit” in that menu
  4. Click “Outline”
    1. You will see the Sections, Lessons and Pages that have been uploaded as a template
    2. Click on the page you would like to edit, and edit according to directions on the screen.

III. How to view videos from students:

  1. After logging in, click “Grading” – it’s the tab on the left right under “Content”
  2. All the student submissions for all of your classes will be listed there.
    1. Click the Assignment in the list, it will open
  3. Click “Download Video” under the small video preview
  4. If you would like to download to your computer, click the three small dots in the lower right corner of the viewing screen

IV. How to create/build content areas in the course:

  1. After logging in click “Content”
  2. Click “Edit” in the “Actions” menu to the right of the course you’d like to edit
  3. Click “Outline” in the panel on the far left
  4. The content is organized by “Section,” “Lesson,” “Page”
    1. If you need to create a new section, click the turquoise “Add Section” button at the bottom of the Outline – the gray panel.
  5. If you need to create a new Lesson within a Section, click the “Add Lesson” button at the bottom of each Section of content in the Outline.
  6. If you need to create a new Page within a Lesson, click “+Add Page”
    1. You will be provided several Page Types to choose from
  7. Explore the options available, following the directions on the page to upload content.

V. How to Upload a document into the Resource Area - for student download:

  1. After logging in, click the “Content” icon
  2. In the “Actions” drop down menu for your selected course, click “Edit”
  3. Click “Settings” on the left side of the screen
    1. Click “Downloadable Files”
  4. You may choose a Section of your course to align your resource with, if you choose to do so, choose the correct section from the drop down menu that appears
  5. Click “Choose File”
    1. Upload the document
  6. Click “Add Resource”

VI. How to Upload a document into the Resource Area - for viewing only:

  1. After logging in, click the “Content” icon
  2. In the “Actions” drop down menu for your selected course, click “Edit”
  3. Scroll down on the left to "Resource Library" and click
  4. Click "Add Resource Category," found in the upper right corner, turquoise button
  5. In the "Category Label" area, type a name for the type of resources you are uploading. Ex: "Videos" - then click "Save" right beside that area
  6. In the "Subcategory Label" area, type a name for a subcategory - repeating the Category label if there is no subcategory - this field must be filled. Then click "Save" right beside that area
  7. Click "Add New Page"
  8. You may then select the appropriate page type to share, and input content as directed on the page.


VII. How to Upload a Video from Youtube:

  1. After logging in, click the “Content” icon
  2. In the “Actions” drop down menu for your selected course, click “Edit”
  3. Click “Outline”
  4. Choose the Section and Lesson you would like to add the video to
    1. If you need to add a lesson titled “*video name*, click “Add Lesson” in the Section you would like to add the video
  5. If you feel comfortable adding the video to a lesson that already is there, skip to the next step
  6. Click “+Add Page” under the selected lesson
  7. Choose the “Text” page.
  8. Title the page the name of the video
  9. Any text you would like to include to explain the video, enter in the text editor box on the screen.
  10. To upload the actual video
    1. In YouTube, click “Share” that appears under the video
  11. Click the “Embed” icon
    1. Copy all the text provided
  12. In the page you were creating, click the “< >” box
    1. Paste what you copied under any text in the box.
  13. Click the “< >” box again
  14. Click the green save button

VIII. How to Upload Zoom Class Meeting Videos:

  1. If the page is already set up to post the video, click the appropriate page
    1. In most Studio or Private lessons pages, this is found at “Week # Zoom Class Video”
  2. Click “Upload Video”
  3. Find and select the appropriate Zoom video
    1. When saved to the computer, it is usually saved to a folder titled “Zoom” – I found mine in the “Documents” tab, but may vary from computer to computer
  4. When saved to the cloud, within Zoom, click on the “Recordings” area on the left side of the screen
    1. You will see a list of recordings
  5. Click the “More” button on the right
  6. Click “Download”
  7. Choose where to save the video
  8. This is the location you should select to upload your video
  9. Once uploaded, click green “Save” at the bottom of the screen
